We traveled all the way from Münster specifically for this beautiful setting. And every bite and every sip more than made up for it. The staff was efficient and incredibly attentive. You could practically see the joy they took in their work, which immediately created a wonderful atmosphere. Our tip: Order the pintxos to share. That way, you can enjoy the fantastic cuisine here and there. It's worth trying everything. A special thank you again to the lady in the kitchen; she truly did a superb job.

**A hidden gem in the Nordstadt district – a must for tapas lovers!** In Dortmund's lively Nordstadt district, right on Bornstraße, lies a true gem: the Stachelschwein restaurant. It's not a no-go zone! This cozy and beautifully decorated restaurant absolutely captivated us with its incredibly delicious and diverse tapas. At Stachelschwein, you won't experience typical Spanish tapas, but rather a creative and diverse interpretation that will make all your taste buds dance. Every single tapa was not only a taste sensation, but also super coolly presented and prepared. Attention to detail is paramount here. For anyone who loves tapas or simply good food, Stachelschwein is an absolute must. The selection of tapas is huge, and if you find your new favorite wine, you can buy it by the case and take it home. This way, you can continue to enjoy the Stachelschwein feeling at home. The restaurant's overall ambiance is perfect for a cozy evening for two, but also for larger groups. The rustic yet stylish interior creates a warm and inviting atmosphere. Added to that is the service that leaves nothing to be desired – friendly, attentive, and always with a smile. Our evening at Stachelschwein was a complete success, and we highly recommend this fantastic restaurant to everyone. Hospitality and quality are paramount here. Thank you for an unforgettable evening!

We'd been planning it for a long time, and now the time had come: our first visit to "Stachelschwein," the culinary embassy of the Nordstadt district, appropriately located in the "Altes Schloss" (Old Castle) at the central intersection of Mallinckrodtstrasse and Bornstrasse. Upon entering the pleasantly lit space, guests are greeted by a "feel-good atmosphere." The tables aren't as tightly packed as is common in many restaurants today. The decor and furnishings are harmonious. Regular readers here will know that the wine bar's concept is to creatively and diversely present pintxos (delicious snacks on small skewers) and tapas, accompanied by wines that aren't available in every supermarket, but are also affordable for those without a lottery ticket. What can I say? My expectations were exceeded! Whether it was the "Patatas Bravas" with trout caviar (€9.50), the shrimp skewer with papaya and chimichurri (€7.90), or the venison goulash with cardamom and currant (€7.90) – in or in every small dish, at least one original ingredient ensured that something familiar was given a completely new, surprising, and always enchanting touch. My favorite yesterday was the ratatouille tart with caramelized goat cheese and rosemary honey (€6). For weight-related reasons, I often forgo dessert when eating out. Not this time. 😇 And the warm "Chocolate Lava Cake" (€8.50) with homemade vanilla ice cream and a plum sauce was truly worth the melting indulgence. We were served competently and amiably by Jasper, whose genuine joy in his work was evident. We are sure: This was certainly not our last visit to the “Stachelschwein”!

Super delicious food and a fantastic ambiance. Very varied cuisine, and plenty of options for vegetarians too. We felt very comfortable. An evening there does come at a price, though; we ate and drank well for two, but we also spent €110. You can also have a glass of wine with two or three pintxos for €25, so that's great! We'd love to come back!

It's a really nice place - the have a back garden, where you can definitely enjoy the good weather. The have nice offers - for example on Sunday, you can get 10 pintxos, a cheese plate and a dessert, for 55 euros. We chose that + water + wine, for 4 people; and it was worth it. The only thing is that you cannot choose the pintxos, but most of them were really nice. If I would choose, I would really recommend the pollo saltado, the cauliflower, the egg... The other ones I didn't enjoy that much. In general, it was a nice place to have some wine and tapas; so I would recommend it for that.
