UPDATE (12/20/25): After Mikkeller & Friends kindly offered to bring the Chugapils board out of retirement for me, I returned a few hours later to defend my honor. I shared the offer with the awesome staff, who honored it immediately - and kindly volunteered to film the entire re-chug for posterity. Moments later, while battling nerves & the crushing weight of expectations, I re-confirmed my place in history with a 2.58-second chug, good for #6 all-time. Huge thanks to the Mikkeller & Friends team for the class, laughs, and generosity. It’s an honor to (once again) be a tiny tiny part of Mikkeller lore! To yet another great night in Copenhagen. 🍻 ———————————————————————- Well, well, well. After three years, I’ve returned to Mikkeller & Friends - one of my all-time favorite beer bars - only to discover that, despite clear video evidence, my 2.65-second Chugapils from 2022 has mysteriously vanished from the board. The current bartender explained that the Chugabeer contest was recently retired, which is fine (for the record, I casually clocked a 2.40 today, which would’ve landed me at #4). But that doesn’t explain how my previous chug quietly disappeared sometime after I left Copenhagen in 2022 - presumably under the assumption that an American tourist would never return to verify his rightful place in history. I love you, Mikkeller. I’ve visited many of your bars around the world. But this erasure hurts. My heart is broken. #justiceforjosh ✊🏼 Other than that: amazing beer and staff, as always! 🍻

Great variety of beers, lovely service (thanks for the recommendations, Romina!), good atmosphere and great music. If I lived in Copenhagen I would definitely come here often.

Super cosy, local spot with a massive (+30) selection of draft beers on tap from Copenhagen and beyond. Friendly staff and some excellent vibes make for an excellent, off the beaten path visit if you like craft beer.
